The Must-See Mustangs of Las Colinas

If you thought the horses above could run right off the screen, you are not alone. This equestrian piece of art is one of the most creative combinations of statues and water fountains.
It is located in Irving, Texas. The Mustangs of Las Colinas is the largest horse sculpture in the world, which is a very specific title. Imagine only being the second biggest equestrian statue. Now that would be an awkward thing to brag about!

The Mustangs of Las Colinas began as a project for Robert Glen in 1976, and was completed in 1984. It started with a year of research, followed by small scale models, fiberglass casts being transported from Nairobi to England to Texas after the bronze casting was completed. There are nine mustangs in all still being enjoyed to this day.

Try checking out the horses during the winter. Not only does the water sometimes freeze, but the horses get a whole new look. It’s an army of ghost horses!
