Amazing Writing Water Fountain in Osaka, Japan

Who does not love a huge, lake-sized fountain with colored lights and music choreography? There are a lot of impressive water fountains out there, but here is one that shows just because you do not go big, does not me you have to go home. This fountain is located in the Osaka City Station in Japan. It demonstrates that modern technology can actually be used to create brand new mediums for art. Can you imagine waiting for a train while this thing is going? It had my peanut-sized brain mesmerized over it at work. I had to lie to my boss about dental work to explain the slack-jaw look on my face.

This stainless steel water fountain can be programmed to display the time, station name, and most impressively of all, draw intricate patterns like branches with flowers. I sincerely hope this technology catches on in the states. It uses programming that is similar to certain printers. This fountain is really suited for public places where the sound can be drowned out. I imagine that the plopping noise of the water would get old very fast if this was placed in a quiet, upscale store or small restaurant. Nevertheless, this is undoubtedly one of the coolest developments in fountain technologies.
